Tips & Tricks to Increase your Social Media Presence

Engagement is key on social media. Host polls, surveys, quizzes, or contests to actively involve your audience. These interactive elements can also provide valuable feedback and insights.

Engagement posts will always get the most interaction or a very close second to pictures of yourself. When we post an engagement post we are asking a very easy question encouraging our followers to give their opinions.

Examples of engagement posts that work really well this time of year are:

• Do you open Chanukah presents every night, or just on the last night?

• Do you wrap your Christmas presents from Santa?

• Which is better: Hot Cocoa or Hot Apple Cider?

• Do you like a live Christmas tree or a ‘packaged’ one?

This type of post allows people to interact with you and your business without having to burn too many brain calories. It is important to interact with each comment you get on these posts. Pay attention to who is commenting. This will show you who is seeing your posts on a regular basis but may not be commenting.

A Fun Fact To Share

  • The origin of the Christmas spirit can be traced back to ancient pagan celebrations. The early Romans celebrated the winter solstice with a festival called Saturnalia, which involved gift-giving, feasting, and a general sense of merriment.

  • The concept of Santa Claus as we know him today was popularized by a famous 1823 poem called "A Visit from St. Nicholas" (commonly known as "The Night Before Christmas"). The character of Santa Claus, with his jolly demeanor and flying reindeer, quickly became synonymous with Christmas spirit around the world.

  • The tradition of hanging stockings by the fireplace can be traced back to a popular legend about St. Nicholas. According to the story, St. Nicholas overheard a man discussing his three daughters' desperate financial situation. To help them secretly, St. Nicholas climbed down their chimney one night and left small bags of gold in each of the girls' stockings, which were hung by the fireplace to dry. This act of generosity led to the tradition of children hanging stockings, hoping St. Nicholas would leave them gifts.
