Trivia Question❓

What is the average number of times a person will brush their teeth in their lifetime?

Answer at the bottom of the newsletter

A Life Lesson

So today & yesterday I messed up this daily newsletter.

Yesterday I put the wrong HTML code in resulting in sending the same publication out twice.

Today I am very very sick and didn't get it set up last night.

Normally this is when I see people stop thier social media journey.  After a couple mistakes.  But REMEMBER you are not meant to be perfect.  We forget that people enjoy our posts (much like this newsletter).  If I was to say...."ah well I messed it up and I'm going to quit" there would be a few people dissappointed.

Don't try to be perfect.  Take action.  Do your work.  Realize we mess up and that is ok too.

Thank you readers for your patiences with me :)

National Day Of...

Jan 19th

GET TO KNOW YOUR CUSTOMERS DAY

The most widely celebrated national day on January 19th is actually not specific to a single country, but rather a global one: National Popcorn Day!

While not an official national holiday in any particular country, National Popcorn Day is a fun and widely recognized occasion to celebrate this versatile and beloved treat. Here are some ways you can join in the festivities:

  • Pop up a batch of popcorn! Experiment with different flavors and toppings, from classic butter and salt to more adventurous options like caramel, cheese, or even spices like chili powder or curry.
  • Host a movie night! Gather your friends and family for a cozy evening curled up on the couch watching a favorite film, all the better with a big bowl of popcorn in hand.
  • Learn about the history of popcorn. It's been enjoyed for centuries, dating back to ancient Mexico and Central America. Popcorn kernels have even been found in archaeological digs!
  • Support your local popcorn shop or farmers market. Many places sell delicious gourmet popcorn in a variety of flavors. It's a great way to treat yourself and try something new.

So, whether you're a popcorn purist or a flavor enthusiast, January 19th is the perfect day to indulge in your love for this iconic snack. Grab a bowl, pop some kernels, and celebrate National Popcorn Day!

Remember, while National Popcorn Day takes the crown for January 19th, there are several other interesting observances on this date:

  • World Quark Day: Dedicated to the subatomic particle that gives mass to protons and neutrons.
  • National Tin Can Day: Celebrating the humble yet versatile tin can, a cornerstone of food storage and preservation.
  • Artist as Outlaw Day: Recognizing the rebellious spirit and individuality of artists who challenge the status quo.
  • Brew a Potion Day: A playful day for unleashing your inner witch or wizard and concocting your own magical (or delicious) potions.

So, even if popcorn isn't your thing, there's sure to be another January 19th observance that piques your interest!

A Life Hack To Share

Mix a tablespoon of powdered garlic with melted butter, then drizzle it over freshly popped popcorn for a delicious garlic popcorn hack.

A Fun Fact To Share

  • Popcorn kernels can pop up to three feet in the air:  When exposed to high heat, the moisture inside the kernel turns into steam and builds pressure until the hull ruptures, causing the popcorn to explode. This explosion can send popped kernels flying several feet high!

  • Popcorn has been around for thousands of years: Popcorn is one of the oldest types of corn, with evidence of its existence dating back to around 3600 BCE in New Mexico. It was initially discovered by Native Americans, who used it for decoration, food, and even in rituals.

  • Popcorn was once banned in movie theaters: In the early 20th century, movie theaters didn't allow outside food. However, during the Great Depression, popcorn vendors started setting up outside theaters, selling their snacks to visitors. As popcorn grew in popularity, theaters eventually realized its profitability and started selling it themselves.
