  • The famous "Darth Vader" character from Star Wars was not initially voiced by James Earl Jones, but by David Prowse, the actor who physically portrayed Vader. It wasn't until post-production that George Lucas decided to replace Prowse's voice with James Earl Jones' deep and iconic voice.


  • The popular video game character, Mario, actually first appeared in the classic 1981 arcade game Donkey Kong. Originally named "Jumpman," Mario was presented as a carpenter trying to rescue his girlfriend, Pauline, from the clutches of Donkey Kong. It wasn't until later games that Mario became a plumber and the beloved mascot of Nintendo.


  • The song "Karma Chameleon" by Culture Club, released in 1983, was indirectly inspired by the band's drummer, Jon Moss. The lyrics were written by the lead singer, Boy George, about his complicated romantic relationship with Moss. The song's title refers to the ever-changing "karma" and the struggles faced in maintaining a relationship.
